Maracuja is an obvious choice when you want to knit light summer styles with an elegant twist. The yarn is spun as one chainspun (chainette) thread, which makes it airy and comfortable - and at the same time you get a lively expression with it multicolored stripes and a nice one glitter effect, which catches the light without appearing too ostentatious.
The Atelier Collection is Lana Gatto's special universe, where materials and processing are geeked out - and Maracuja is a really nice take on a luxurious cotton yarn for summer.
Maracuja consists of 75% cotton and 25% viscose, which gives a light, summery quality with a nice fall. The viscose contributes a bit of shine and a more "silky" touch, while the cotton keeps it fresh and usable on hot days. The yarn is also OEKO-TEX® certified.
Maracuja is very suitable for projects where you want a light expression with a beautiful play of colors - and a discreet glint that gives the knitting a little something extra.
Good ideas for projects:
With knitting strength 24 stitches per 10 cm on needle 4 mm you get a relatively fine mask image that fits perfectly with light tops and blouses. The one warp-spun construction gives an airy fall and a pleasant feeling in the finished knit.
Tip: Feel free to knit a sample, especially if you want to hit just the right amount of stockinette stitch or are planning a project with a lot of movement (e.g. dress/skirt).
Maracuja is one Limited Edition yarn, which means it is only produced in one round. If you've fallen in love with a color (or are knitting a larger project), it may be a good idea to secure enough from the start to avoid color or lot differences later.
