Inspiration: Beautiful wool knitwear in Misina and Misina Tweed

Misina and Misina Tweed are two classic wool qualities from Lana Gatto, which are obvious when you want to knit projects that are both neat, practical and look great in use. It is one pure and classic wool thread, which gives a clear mask image and looks great in both stockinette, rib and structure – perfect for everything from sweaters and cardigans to hats, scarves and children's knitwear. The wool feels comfortable and do not scratch, and many can easily wear it directly against the skin.

The difference lies primarily in the expression: Misina has a clean, timeless look in monochromatic shades, while Misina Tweed has the small, fine tweed stitches that give more play and depth - even when you knit simply. Both qualities are easy to work with and a safe choice if you want woolen yarn that can be used for many types of knitting.

In this blog post, you will get facts about Misina and Misina Tweed, what you can expect from the yarn in knitting – and finally we show inspiration in the form of our knitting of selected popular recipes.

  • Weight & running length: 50 g / 100 m

Misina & Misina Tweed – this is how the yarn feels and behaves

Classic wool that holds up beautifully in use

Misina and Misina Tweed are really good "everyday wool": they are made to be used. You get a yarn there withstands repeated use, keeps the shape nicely and gives a knit that retains its expression over time.

Comfortable wool - can be worn directly against the skin

Even though it is pure wool, both Misina and Misina Tweed are experienced as comfortable and non-scratch too many. This makes them suitable for projects that need to be worn close to the body - even without anything underneath.

Beautiful mask image in both stockinette and structure

Both qualities give one calm, even mask image, which especially suits stockinette, ribbing and simple structures. It's the type of yarn that makes even simple projects look "finished" and nice.

Tweed or plain - same base, different expression

The difference lies primarily in the look:

  • Misina Tweed has small tweeds that give depth and life in the finished knit, even when you knit simply.
  • Misina is clean and classic in expression – perfect if you want a monochromatic, timeless result.

What is Misina & Misina Tweed particularly suitable for?

Misina and Misina Tweed are versatile qualities that you can use for both small and large projects. They are particularly suitable for:

  • sweaters and cardigans

  • vests and sleepovers

  • hats, scarves and other accessories

  • children's knitting

  • projects with structure (rib, pattern knitting and simple relief patterns)
