Oliva Totebag - Knitamore

The finest project bag knitted in woven knit with fabric lining, pockets for knitting and tie to pull the bag together. The bag is perfect when you need to transport and store your knitwear, but can also be used as a toiletry bag.

Oliva Totebag is knitted in the round on either a circular needle or with double pointed needles in stockinette stitch. First, the bottom piece is knitted back and forth in pattern 1, after which stitches are picked up all the way around the bottom. From here, knit in the round in pattern 2. At the top of the bag, the work is divided into two parts, which are finished knitting separately in pattern 1 and finished with a stockinette stitch edge, which is folded over and sewn together at the end. This edge acts as a runner for a fabric cord to pull the bag together. The lining with pockets is first sewn together on a machine and then fitted into the bag.

NOTE: Fabric for lining cannot be bought from Smuksak. Visit your local hobby store.

Sizes: One size

Size guide: The measurements of the bag fit if you adhere to the knitting tension, however, you will be able to easily adjust the fabric lining if you do not manage to fully adhere to the knitting tension. Be sure to measure your knitted bag before you cut out the fabric to ensure that both parts fit together.

Knit strength: 27 stitches x 34 rows (measured in the row with purl stitches) in stockinette stitch on needles 3.5 mm = 10 x 10 cm.

Guiding sticks: Circular needle 3.0 mm and 3.5 mm (60 cm), double pointed needles 3.5 mm.

The dimensions of the bag: Bottom: 12 x 24 cm, height: 28 cm.

Yarn suggestions from Smuksak: 1 thread VIP (Cashmere/Merino) 50 g / 200 meters or Perlata d'Australia 50 g / 233 meters or Reloved Merino 50 g / 230 meters along with 1 thread Silk Mohair 25 g / 212 meters. It is knitted in two threads in total
